Access Record

Systems · Anyone shipping digital work into the EU

Built and demonstrable — not something we offer to deploy. The walkthrough below is real and worth two minutes. Why, and what to use instead, is set out on the systems page.

The European Accessibility Act has applied since 28 June 2025, and it asks for a published accessibility statement and ongoing procedures: a condition you maintain rather than a certificate you obtain. It is almost always bought as a project — audit the template, fix the findings, issue the report — after which two hundred pages get built and nobody looks again. Access Record keeps a dated conformance record per surface, continuously.

Who it is for

Agencies and in-house teams publishing digital work that reaches EU users, and anyone whose accessibility statement is a public claim they would rather keep true. It matters most on estates that change weekly through campaign pages, third-party tools and uploaded documents.

Why we do not sell it

We do not. Two vendors in this category run at over $100m of revenue each, and one of them publishes continuous monitoring from under $1,000 a year. We could not build, run and support the same thing at a price you could resell. It is also worth knowing that the European Accessibility Act is narrower than it is usually sold as: it covers services offered to consumers, it exempts the smallest suppliers, and it has so far produced no fine anywhere in the EU.

What the retainer covers

The estate changes continuously and each change can introduce a regression. The retainer covers the ongoing checking, attributing findings to the deploy or upload that caused them, and keeping the published statement accurate as the standards themselves are revised.

Worth being plain about: this and Consent Layer are the two systems that have to inspect live surfaces rather than watch a feed. That is a different build and a different monthly cost, and we would rather say so here than in the second meeting.

The walkthrough above uses a fictional organisation and illustrative figures. No client data appears anywhere.

Building this under your own name?

Most of what we build is deployed by agencies and consultancies under their own brand. We stay behind it.
