Privacy Policy

This page explains what happens to information when you use this website, and what we do with anything you send us. It is short because this website does very little.

What this website collects

There is no contact form, no login, no comments and no shopping basket on this site. We do not ask you to give us anything, and we do not set advertising or tracking cookies.

Two things do happen automatically:

  • Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard web server logs — the page requested, the time, your browser type and your IP address. These exist so the server can be operated and secured. They are kept for a short period and are not used to build a profile of you.
  • Measurement. We use a privacy-preserving analytics service to count visits and see which pages are read. It sets no cookies, stores no identifier on your device, and does not follow you to other websites. We can see that a page was read; we cannot see who read it.

Because nothing here requires consent under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, there is no cookie banner. That is deliberate.

If you email us

The contact link on this site opens your own email program. If you write to us, we hold your message and your email address for as long as we are in contact and for a reasonable period afterwards, so that we can pick up a conversation where it left off. Our lawful basis is legitimate interest: you wrote to us and expect a reply.

We do not add you to a mailing list. We do not sell, rent or share your details with anyone for marketing.

Who else can see it

Our website hosting provider and our email provider process data on our behalf in order to run those services. They act on our instructions and are not permitted to use your information for their own purposes.

Client work

This policy covers this website. When we build and run systems for clients, we act as a data processor under a separate written agreement with that client, which sets out what we may do with the data in question, where it is held and for how long. If you are a client and want that agreement, ask and we will send it.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to us holding it. Write to richard@aravista.co.uk and we will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We would rather you told us first, so we can put it right.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version will appear on this page with a new date below. We do not quietly rewrite it.
